SATURDAY, APRIL 15, 2006

  3:00 pm         Drop off your suitcase and instrument at the Kennedy Band Room.

                        On Trek Luggage tags will be affixed to the handle.  Suitcases and instruments

                   to be locked up in the Band Room.   Your Hawaiian Shirts will be given out

                   after we have tagged your suitcase.

 

MONDAY, APRIL 17, 2006

4:30 am           Call Time in the Band Room, Luggage and Instruments loaded on trucks

5:20 am           District Buses and Trucks depart for LAX

6:15am         Meet curbside American Airlines & Hawaiian Airlines at Los Angeles International Airport at least 2.5 hours before departure 

 8:30am        Depart LAX for Honolulu on American Airlines Flight#31

 8:40am        Depart LAX for Honolulu on Hawaiian Airlines Flight#1

 10:30am       Pickup lei’s for group at Rachel’s Lei Stand.

 11:10 am      Arrive in Honolulu on Hawaiian Airlines Flight#1

 11:05 am      Arrive in Honolulu on American Airlines Flight#31

 12:45 pm      Arrive at Waikiki at the Banyan Hotel

1:00 pm        Orientation meeting to students while luggage is being delivered to rooms.

 2:00 pm       Free time for everyone to hit the beach!

 4:30 pm       Meet for departure to Perry’s Smorgy on Kuhio and Kaiulani.

 4:40 pm       Depart for Perry’s

 5:00 pm       Arrive at Perry’s Smorgy for dinner

 5:45 pm       Free time for kids at International Marketplace, Duke’s Alley, the beach, etc. Be sure to

                   work with teacher and the chaperones to be sure the kids can either go free or that they

                   have to be in chaperoned groups.

 9:00 pm       All students must be back at the Waikiki Banyan Hotel

10:00 pm       Lights out

 

TUESDAY, APRIL 18, 2006

    7:00 am    Wakeup call. Everyone will need performance uniforms and instruments 

    8:15 am    Meet in lobby for departure; walk to Perry’s for breakfast

    8:30 am    Breakfast at Perry’s

    9:30 am    Everyone should be back at hotel to change into performance clothing and get

                   instruments

  10:00 am     Everyone to meet in the lobby for bus pickup

  TUESDAY, APRIL 18, 2006 (Continued)

  10:20 am     Depart for Pali Lookout

  10:50 am     Arrive at Pali Lookout

  11:20 am     Depart Pali Lookout for UH

  11:35 am     Arrive at UH, unload instruments; timing is tight! There is a class letting out at 11:45 in

the band room, you have to be setup and ready to roll at noon sharp!

12:00 pm    Music clinic at the University of Hawaii. 

1:30 pm     Load instruments on coach; depart for driving tour of Capitol, Iolani Palace, King Kam statue and Mission Houses and downtown, then

               head to Ala Moana Shopping Center

    2:30 pm    Arrive at Ala Moana Shopping Center

    3:45 pm    Bring gear to Center Stage

    4:00 pm    Performance at Ala Moana Shopping Center

    4:30 pm    Performance is over; put instruments away in coach.

    5:30         pm     Dinner at Bubba Gumps

   6:30 pm     Depart for Waikiki

   7:00 pm     Drop group at the Waikiki Banyan Hotel.  Evening free to explore Waikiki.

   9:00 pm     Hotel curfew

 10:00 pm      Lights out

 

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 19, 2006

  6:00 am      Wakeup call

  6:45 am      Breakfast at hotel

  7:45 am      Meet in lobby for departure

  8:15 am      Depart for Pearl Harbor

 8:45 am       Arrive at U.S.S Arizona Memorial; line students up, advise Rangers that you have two

                   reservation slots, one for 9:15 am for 68 students and 11 adults. 79 total. The 2nd group

                   is at 9:45 am for 68 students and 11 adults, 79 total.

11:45 am       Depart for Aloha Stadium

11:55 am       Arrive Aloha Stadium; Shop till you drop at Aloha Flea Market! Located at the Aloha Stadium, home of Hawaii’s Pro Bowl, the flea

                   market has Hawaii’s best buys of Pacific Rim merchandise!  There will be various vendors selling food. 

2:15 pm       Load group to return to Waikiki; travel back to Honolulu

 2:45 pm       Drop at Waikiki Banyan Hotel; afternoon free for beach activities or shopping.

4-6:00 pm     Dinner at Lu Lu’s Waikiki Surf Club

 6:00 pm       Evening free until hotel curfew to visit International Marketplace, attend KahalaTheatre or beach

10:30 pm       lights out

 

THURSDAY, APRIL 20, 2006

 7:00 am       Wakeup call; Snorkeling group #1 should eat first and be back ready to depart at 7:45!

 7:00 am       Breakfast at Perry’s included.

 7:45 am       Group 1: to meet for departure to Hanauma Bay

 8:00 am       Group 1: Depart for Hanauma Bay

 9:00 am       Group 1: Arrive at Hanauma Bay

10:00 am       Group 2: Depart for Hanuama Bay

11:00 am       Group 2: arrive Hanauma; Group 1: depart Hanauma Bay for Waikiki.

12:00 pm       Group 3: Depart for Hanauma Bay

1:00 pm        Group 3 arrive Hanauma; Group 2: depart Hanauma Bay for Waikiki.

  2:00 pm      Group 4: departs for Hanauma Bay

  3:00 pm      Group 4: arrive Hanauma; Group 3 depart Hanauma Bay for Waikiki.

Afternoon free as groups arrive back in Waikiki for the beach, shopping, zoo, aquarium, hiking, etc…  Set meet back time for dinner

6:30 pm        Dinner at Seafood Village Menu: Spring roll, Siu Mai, Egg Blossom Soup, Shrimp Egg Fuyung, Chicken with Mushrooms, Sliced

                   Beef with Julienne Peppers, Fried Rice, Dessert - Almond Float.

FRIDAY, APRIL 21, 2006

  7:00 am      Wakeup call; wear swimsuit gear for snorkel adventure after breakfast

  8:30 am      Breakfast at hotel catered in by Kamamai Catering.

  3:00 pm       All group members should be back at hotel to get cleaned up for luau.

  4:15 pm      Paradise Cove Luau

  5:00 pm      Arrive at Paradise Cove Luau; everyone will have their photo taken upon arrival, kids

should separate into groups of friends.  Photos are available for purchase at the end of the evening.

  8:30 pm      Depart for hotel

  9:30 pm      Arrive at hotel

11:00 pm       Lights out

   5:50 am     Arrive at HNL for Hawaiian Airlines Flight#10 & American Airlines Flight#284 to Los Angeles; unload coaches

   6:10 am     Check-in for Hawaiian Airlines Flight#10 to Los Angeles

   8:10 am       Depart on Hawaiian Airlines Flight#10 to Los Angeles

   4:36 pm        Hawaiian Airlines arrival in Los Angeles

   6:40 pm       Expected arrival at the Kennedy Parking Lot
